How does online driver’s education work?
You will just need to create an account on our website, pay, and submit all paperwork. Once your Indiana Online contract is submitted, you will have full access to your course.
You will be required to have your Learner’s License to start the 6 Hours of Behind the Wheel driving. Once you have obtained your permit please call our corporate office at 734-665-7374 Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, and we will get you in contact with the instructor to set up your behind the wheel.
NOTE: If you do not call to let us know you are ready for the behind the wheel you will not be contacted.
How long will this course take to complete?
That depends on your individual pace. In Indiana, all drivers’ education courses must be at least 30 hours. You can always go at your own pace and log in and out at your convenience. Keep in mind; the state of Indiana only gives 180 days to complete the entire program.
Students can only work up to three hours in one day. If you need to leave for any reason make sure to log off, the system will save your progress. If you don’t log off, then the timer will continue to run even if you are not actively working on the course. Once you hit the daily time limit, you cannot work on the course again for 24 hours.
I can’t log in. my account says “pending.”
Even though the account is successfully made and entered into our system, we do still require a copy of the Indiana Combo Online Contract before we can “unlock” the account for the student to begin actively working on the course. This can be found under the forms section of our website.
How long do I have to work on the course?
The state allows you to work on the course for up to 3 hours a day. If you hit that 3-hour mark, you will be logged out of your class and have to wait 24 hours before you can log back in. We recommend logging out a few minutes before you hit that time limit. Doing that, you will be able to log in again the next day at any time.
My certificate has not come by email yet.
All certificates are emailed no later than Friday of each week. If you have not received your certificate by email, please first check your Spam folder. If you still do not see it please contact our Compliance Department at email@example.com and we can email you another copy.
Is driver education required for me?
It is required for anyone under the age of 18.
How old do I have to be to start driver education?
You can be 15 years old to begin your driver education course.
You will be required to have your Learner’s License in order to start the 6 Hours of Behind the Wheel driving. You should be contacted by an instructor shortly after registering for the online class. If you have not heard from an instructor by the time you have obtained your Learner’s License, please feel free to call our corporate office during regular business hours, and we will get you connected with a local instructor.
I do not have my temporary permit.
You can still enroll and take classes before receiving your permit. You will, however, have to obtain your permit before participating in the “in-car” portion of driver’s education. Once you have it, we can pair you with an instructor in your area.
