Who is required to complete the Ohio Adult Abbreviated Online course?
An individual who is age 18 or older, and who fails the first attempt at the maneuverability or road test is required to complete an Abbreviated Adult course.
Is the Ohio Adult Abbreviated course only available online?
The course is offered online by All Star and requires access to a computer or laptop with internet connectivity for completion. This format provides flexibility for adult students who need to improve their driving skills.
Is behind the wheel training required?
Yes, behind the wheel training is required after the online program is completed. There are two options:
1.) 4 hours of in-car training with a licensed instructor at an accredited abbreviated adult driving school.
2.) 24 hours of driving (no more than 4 hours per day) with a licensed driver at least 21 years of age. Twenty- four Hour Affidavit form is required.
How do I access the program after I enroll and pay?
During the time of enrollment, the student credentials are emailed to the provided email address. Access the Student Portal and log in using your credentials. Please check your email inbox for the credentials and login information (Subject line: Student Portal Login Credentials from [email protected]).
After I enroll, how do I submit the required documentation?
Students taking the Ohio Adult Abbreviated Online course must undergo electronic identity verification. This process typically involves answering a series of questions to confirm the student's identity, such as providing their date of birth, social security details, and other personal information. To complete this step, on the student portal, locate the red Validate button and click on it. If you fail the online electronic identity verification process, you will have to print our ID Verification form and take it to be notarized. Identity verification is a state requirement.
What happens if I fail the final exam?
Students are allowed three attempts to pass the final exam, and there must be a 24-hour gap between each attempt.
Is there a deadline byy which to complete?
Individuals are permitted 90 days to complete the 4-hour program.
Will I get a certificate of completion?
To receive a certificate of completion for the Ohio Adult Abbreviated Online course, the student must achieve a passing grade of 75% or greater. The Certificate of Completion will be emailed to you and uploaded to the All Star Student Portal no more than a maximum of 2 business days after completion.
Can I schedule my road test after I complete the program?
The online program fulfills only the classroom requirement. You must also complete 24 hours of driving with another licensed adult or 4 hours with an Abbreviated Adult certified instructor. Students should not schedule the road test until after the certificate of completion is received.
What do I do if my Certificate of Completion is lost or damaged?
Certificates of Completion are uploaded to the student portal for easy access, under the Student Files section, they are also emailed to you so you can save, and reprint as needed. (If you started class before. May 1st, 2022, a Request for Duplicate Certificate form must be completed and submitted/cost is $15).
What if I drop out or want a refund for the program?
No refunds are issued after the first day of class. All other approved refunds are subject to a $5 processing fee, can take up to 10 business days, are credited back to the card on which they were purchased and are issued only to the person who paid for the program. A full refund will be issued if All Star must cancel your course/program and cannot provide an acceptable alternative.
*No refund is due to students who have been expelled from an All Star program.
*There is a $30 return check fee for all returned checks.
