Do you have a teenager that needs to take drivers education? In Texas you have two options to take drivers ed at home (parent taught and teen online drivers ed texas). Recently, there has been an increase in the need for more homeschooling and online classes. As a response we have added more at home options. We offer both parent-taught and online teen drivers education. Luckily, All Star has provided more options for students who wish to take Texas online drivers education from anywhere at anytime for along time now with their own proprietary, industry-leading curriculum. We will discuss the important differences between self taught online learning and parent-taught drivers ed courses below.
Texas Parent-Taught (PTDE)
- First, a Parent/Guardian must send an application to the TDLR requesting to teach the course.
- After, the first module is taken the student can then take the Class C Exam online and get their certificate for their Learner’s Permit. Then they can start driving right away! ( Please notify [email protected] once the Class C Exam is completed)
- 100% Texas state-approved course
- Self Paced by instructor abiding by curriculum but done at Parents pace and order
- 32-Hour Classroom Instruction
- Simultaneously can learn classroom and behind the wheel at the same time
- 44 Hours of Behind the Wheel Driving can be done at your own leisure (once your student receives their Learner’s License)
- Once the full course has been completed, and the full 44 hours of driving has been completed, you can then request for the Final Completion Certificate (DE-964)
- Texas Class C Exam FREE OF CHARGE upon completion of the course
Texas Teen Online Drivers Education
- 100% block-style fully online course
- 100% Texas state-approved course
- Self taught and module paced that can be taken anytime from the convenience of your computer
- 32-Hour Classroom Instruction
- Must complete the entire class before obtaining their certificate of completion (DE-964 Form)
- Texas Class C Exam FREE OF CHARGE upon completion of the course
- Once class is complete the student will need to find a TDLR approved driving school. Here are the additional driving requirements:
- 7 Hours of “Behind the Wheel” in-car instruction
- 7 Hours of “Observation” driving time
- 30 Hours of Additional Driving Time
