Virtual Segment 1 and Segment 2 Class Now Available for All Star Customers
From using the safest cars with GPS monitoring technology to our innovative curriculum, All Star has always led the way in driver education with our Customer First approach. Last week, All Star Driver Education held a demo with the State of Michigan, showcasing our ability to deliver classes via videoconferencing technology. We are happy to share that the State of Michigan has approved us to offer Segment 1 and Segment 2 classes via videoconference to our customers during the COVID-19 stay home stay-safe order.
We are offering videoconferencing-based Segment 1 and Segment 2 classes at multiple convenient time slots via Zoom video conferencing to our current March and April customers. We are limiting our class to only 20 students per video conference link to make sure our instructors can keep the students engaged, so please sign up quickly for the time that works best for you.
Students will work through our proprietary curriculum with a certified instructor on a Zoom conference video conferencing – complete with the ability to raise a hand, ask questions and participate in discussions. Students must have access to a computer or laptop with a camera and video capability in order to participate via video conference.
After finishing the virtual class, and once restrictions are lifted, the students will participate in a week-long review, followed by taking the final exam at a physical location. It is important to note that the state has extended the time to finish the required drives, so do not worry about not being able to drive right away. We will schedule one-on-one drives with our instructors once the stay home-stay safe order is lifted.
Sharing this exciting news, Rick Van Pelt, President and COO of All Star Driver Education said, “These are difficult times and people are anxious about the future. It is important that we follow the guidelines provided to us to stay safe and stay healthy. We should also stay positive. Start thinking and planning beyond the current situation. We see that a lot of our customers are thinking ahead to the summer and our summer classes are filling up very quickly.”
We are working very hard here at All Star to continue to deliver the same top-notch driver education to students that we always have, and are very happy with the ability to do so via videoconferencing technology! We hope that you are as excited as us about using this time off to help your student learn about driver education and becoming a safe and responsible driver in our video conference classes.”
March customers should have already received the links to sign-up for Segment 1 and Segment 2 video conference classes. If you have not please write to:
www.allstardrivereducation.com/contact/ for more information on how to get started.
Looking for more structure in your teen’s day? Why not use the time we have now to complete the 24 hours of driver education classroom requirements so that your teen is ready to hit the road in our state-of-the-art five-star safety rated vehicles once the stay-at-home order is lifted!
If the stay-home order is extended, we will work with our customers to transfer you to a virtual class; if the state extends the virtual class option.

Dear Customers,
Earlier today, Governor Whitmer issued a “Stay at Home” order for the State of Michigan for three weeks. Governor Mike DeWine in Ohio issued a similar order yesterday. All Star Driver Education is committed to the safety of our students and instructors.
Following the executive order, we will be postponing all Classroom, Drives, Road Testing and Behind the Wheel training. Our offices will be closed, and our team will not available on the phone to help you during this time.
Please note the state has extended the timeline to finish the drives during this crisis. So please don’t worry about being out of compliance. We will finish the drives once the lockdown is over.
In Ohio, we can transfer all classroom students to online, please write to: www.allstardrivereducation.com/contact/ to switch and get the classroom portion of your driver’s ed online.
We will be able to support our online students by email and chat systems on our website. Please write to: www.allstardrivereducation.com/contact/.
We will keep you updated on any other changes. Meanwhile please stay indoors, stay safe.

Hello All Star Families,
As we are all aware of the school closings due to the
Coronavirus, All Star Driver Education will be suspending classroom activity in
Michigan effective Friday, March 13th through March 22nd.
These classes include all Michigan Segment 1 and Segment 2 across the State.
Our goal is to keep up to date with the current situation
and re-asses toward the end of next week with an updated plan of action. Please
be patient with us during this unprecedented time as we work with state
officials to ensure we provide a safe driver education experience for our
students. Our current plan is to attempt to find alternate locations to hold
and finish your student’s classes or to find alternative delivery methods of
the curriculum.
Our instructors are available to conduct Behind the Wheel
instruction and will be reaching out to students to see if they are available
to drive. We have enhanced our protocols for cleaning and sanitizing the cars
after each drive and are following the CDC guidelines. We have informed
instructors to stock their vehicles with hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes
and ask that students wipe down all touch points after every drive.
If a student has a drive scheduled and does not feel well or
does not feel comfortable driving at this time, please contact the instructor
and we will reschedule the drive without a fee. The instructor has been given
the right to refuse to drive a student if they feel your student is showing
signs of being ill. We have also given our instructors the option to cancel if
they are filling ill themselves or if they feel uncomfortable driving during
this current situation.
If you have any questions, please visit our website (www.allstarde.com) or e-mail www.allstardrivereducation.com/contact/. Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Hello All Star Families,
Due to the State of Emergency and the closing of all Ohio
Schools starting on Monday, March 16th, for 3 weeks, this means our
classes will be canceled. We have 2 options for your students.
First, we can switch your student to our online program free
of charge. This would mean your student would need to start the 24 hours of
class over, but can do up to 4 hours of class a day and will be able to
continue with their scheduled drives.
Second, your student can continue drives and can make up the
missed days for this month in the next class we are offering in your location.
This would mean they would not have to do any class over, they would just need
to wait until classes are back in session to complete.
Please give us a call back at our office, 734-665-7374, and
let us know what option you wish to choose.
Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Dear Parents,
The safety and well-being of our students and employees is our top priority. We are actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19).
If your student is taking our class at a school, we are following school schedules, and will continue to conduct classroom sessions as long as after school activities remain ongoing at your school.
If your student is taking our class at a location that is not in a school, we will inform you of any changes in the class schedule as soon as possible. Until further notice, we expect all classes to be held as scheduled.
If you are in Ohio, we will be happy to switch you to our online course without any additional fees. Please email us on [email protected].
Regardless of where your student is taking the class and regardless of whether school is in session, we will continue providing behind the wheel instruction as currently scheduled. Our instructors have increased our cleaning protocols with frequency of cleaning our cars, and have been asked to follow the guidelines recommended by the CDC. If any of our instructors have any cold or fever symptoms or have come in contact with anyone with such symptoms, they have been requested to stay home, and we will make arrangements to ensure your behind the wheel instruction is provided as timely as possible.
If your student has a cold or fever, please stay home. We will not charge a no-show fee and will work with your schedules to accommodate make-up classes or behind the wheel drives. We would also ask that all students take preventative measures to prevent the spread of viruses such as COVID-19, including, hand washing with soap and hot water and avoid touching your face.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will update you should conditions change. Please visit this page to get the latest updates. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us at: www.allstardrivereducation.com/contact/.
Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your students,
